Google Classroom Preview

We currently use Google Classroom in Grades 5-8. We have had many questions on how it looks and how a student would use it so we have created a sample student account connected to a classroom created in the 2018-2019 school year.

Viewing a Sample Google Classroom

If your student is already a part of a Google Classroom, please log into your child’s account to be able to see the classes they may be in. Otherwise please use the information below.

To see the classroom, go to and sign in using “” with the password “classroomtest01“. Be sure to not include the quotation marks when entering the username and password. If you are already using a gmail account, you may have to log off your account to be able to log into the sample student account.

Navigating through Google Classroom

When you log on, a dashboard should appear which will show all the classes that this account is connected to. In this case, it is only connected to one classroom which is the 8th Grade Social Studies created by our former teacher, Mr. Connor Schmid.

  1. Click on the class “8th Grade Social Studies” to enter the classroom.
  2. The first thing shown will be the Stream tab. Under this tab, due date information about assignments will show under the “Upcoming” window shown on the left. In the center, any time the teacher posts a new assignment or has any updates for the class will be posted here.
  3. In the Classroom tab, a detailed look at assignments will be shown. Any assigned work and resources will appear here. This will be where students will submit any homework that is assigned by the teacher.
  4. In the People tab, teachers will be shown at the top while students in the class will be shown at the bottom. A student will be able to send emails or message from here.
