Active kids in fun sports day

April in gym class has been all about building cardio and strength.

Students have been active while working on endurance, coordination, and overall fitness through a variety of fun and engaging activities.

With the warmer weather arriving, students are excited to get back outside and participate in team sports. This month, they have been getting into games like kickball, softball, handball, and flag football. These activities not only help improve physical fitness, but also encourage teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship. The students are showing great enthusiasm and energy, and it’s wonderful to see them supporting one another while building confidence.

As we move into this new month, we would also like to take a moment to celebrate recent success. Thank you to all our families and students who participated in Jump for the Heart. Because of your generosity and school spirit, we proudly raised $202 for the American Heart Association. We are so proud of everyone who helped support such an important cause while learning about heart health and cardiovascular fitness.

In addition, students have begun engaging in exciting conversations about the 2026 Winter Olympics we hosted as we get ready for Field Day. They learned about Olympic athletes, winter sports, and the traditions of the Games.

Spring Health Tips

Allergy Tips:

  • Encourage students to wash hands and faces after outdoor play to remove pollen.
  • Keep water bottles handy—staying hydrated can help ease allergy symptoms.
  • Remind children to avoid rubbing their eyes and to inform an adult if they feel uncomfortable.

Healthy Spring Snack Ideas:

  • Fresh fruit like apples, oranges, or berries for a natural energy boost.
  • Yogurt or cheese sticks for protein and strength-building nutrients.
  • Crunchy veggies with dip (carrots, cucumbers, or peppers) for a healthy, refreshing snack.

We look forward to another active and exciting month ahead!
